Poison Fire

Editor's Take

Documenting the aftermath of decades of oil extraction in the Niger Delta, the film records spilled crude, gas flares, and the ruined land and water left to local communities. Following activists on the ground, it hands the account to the people who bear the cost while the profits go elsewhere. The method is direct and testimonial, foregrounding witness over analysis. It is a pointed record of environmental harm, made from the vantage of those living inside it.
