Square One

Editor's Take

Returning to the 1993 allegations at the center of the Michael Jackson case, the film treats a familiar story as an open question rather than a settled verdict. Its method is reconstructive, rebuilding the timeline and interviewing those who stood closest to the original claim. Viewers should note that it argues a particular reading of events, and weigh its selection of sources accordingly. What distinguishes it is the attention paid to how a public narrative gets assembled in the first place.

Square One re-examines the first allegations made against Michael Jackson in 1993, returning to the original claim and the people who stood closest to it. Through fresh interviews and a careful reconstruction of the timeline, the film questions how the story was built and what the public was never shown. It is less interested in delivering a verdict than in the mechanics of the case, the money, the media, and the pressure on everyone involved. For anyone who knows only the headlines, it offers a genuinely different angle on one of the most litigated reputations in modern celebrity. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
