The Battle of Hastings in 1066 marked William the Conqueror's claim to the English crown, transforming Normandy from a duchy in northwest France into a burgeoning international empire. Known for his bravery and military genius, Richard the Lionheart ascends to the English throne and leads an extensive realm. His ambition and prowess, however, incite fierce opposition from King Philip Augustus of France. An opposition that would lead to the downfall of the House of Normandy.
