The Tic Tac UFO: Can This Sighting Be Explained?

Dr.Docs' Take

NOVA takes the famous 2004 Tic Tac encounter off San Diego, where Navy pilots tracked an object that dropped from sixty thousand feet in a heartbeat, and does the responsible thing, it actually tries to explain it. I respect a science show that hunts for the mundane answer first and reports honestly when it comes up short. Commander Fravor is not a man who is easy to laugh off. This is the calm, rigorous version of a story usually told at a shout.

This short NOVA film examines the famous Tic Tac UFO sighting, when Navy pilots reported a mysterious object off the coast of San Diego in 2004. It looks at the recorded footage that fueled fierce debate and asks whether the encounter can be explained by science. Measured and curious, it treats the sighting as a genuine unsolved puzzle rather than proof of anything. For anyone fascinated by UFOs, it is a level-headed and intriguing watch.
