The ENTIRE History of Islam (Documentary)

Editor's Take

Beginning with the life of the Prophet Muhammad and the early caliphates, this long-form account follows the faith's expansion through the Crusades, the Ottoman centuries, and the Mughal era, taking in politics, culture, and scholarship. Its ambition is coverage, condensing many centuries into a single continuous narrative. The format favors breadth over close examination of any one period. It works as an orienting overview for viewers who want the through-line before the detail.

This documentary covers the entire history of Islam, from the life of the Prophet Muhammad and the early caliphates to the great empires that followed. It traces the spread of the faith through the Crusades, the Ottoman era, and the Mughal dynasty, exploring the politics, culture, and scholarship along the way. Across more than two hours it offers a broad and connected view of a religion and civilisation that shaped much of the world.
