Why We Fight: Prelude to War

Part of Frank Capra's famous wartime series, this film was made to explain to Americans why their country entered the Second World War. It contrasts the free world with the rise of aggressive dictatorships, using newsreel footage and forceful narration. As both history and propaganda, it offers a revealing window into how a nation was rallied for war. Powerful and pointed, it remains a landmark of persuasive filmmaking.
