Iran 1979: The Worst Hostage Crisis in American History

This documentary revisits the 1979 Iran hostage crisis and the daring escape at its heart, the so-called Canadian Caper. While fifty-two Americans were held at the seized embassy in Tehran, six diplomats slipped away and hid, then relied on Canadian help and a bold cover story to get out. Drawing on declassified detail, the film reconstructs the fear, improvisation and diplomacy behind one of the Cold War's most gripping rescues. It is a tense, revealing account of a defining crisis in American history. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
