Faces of Colonialism: The Story of an Imperialist Propaganda

This documentary explores how photographer Robert Lohmeyer helped shape Europe's image of Africa through early colour pictures of Germany's colonies between 1907 and 1909. It shows how such images served imperial propaganda and hardened racist assumptions. The film reads these photographs critically, revealing the power of the camera to distort. It is a thought-provoking watch about colonialism, photography, and the making of a biased worldview. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
