This documentary tracks the fate of Rome's Ninth Legion, which seemingly vanished from history in Britain. Historian Tristan Hughes follows the legion from the Claudian invasion to its brushes with disaster in Scotland and its final mention in the record. The film separates evidence from legend in one of antiquity's great puzzles. It is a fascinating watch for anyone interested in ancient Rome, military history, and the mystery of the lost legion.
