A triangular craft roars across a Belgian field firing red light while dozens of people watch, part of a 1989 to 1990 wave the Belgian air force chased with scrambled F-16s. I put the Belgian triangle flap on the top shelf, because once a national air force is launching fighters at your sighting, you have officially left campfire-story territory. Radar locks, jet pursuits, mass witnesses. This is one of the genuinely strong ones, and I do not say that lightly.
