Billions in Change

Editor's Take

Centered on a group of inventors who prefer building to arguing, the film profiles practical devices aimed at pollution, water, food, and health for people in need. It keeps its attention on the doers and the hardware, framing global problems as engineering challenges to be met directly. The outlook is optimistic and solution-minded, and it advocates for that approach rather than examining it critically. Taken as such, it is a brisk showcase of applied invention with a clear point of view.

Billions in Change follows a group of inventors and entrepreneurs who decided that solving the world's biggest problems requires doing rather than talking. The film focuses on practical inventions aimed at pollution, food, water, and health, built to make a direct difference to people in need. It profiles the doers behind these efforts and the elegantly simple technologies they hope will scale. It is an optimistic argument that real change comes from building solutions, not debating them.
