This is the responsible cousin of the Bermuda Triangle family, because the cargo ship El Faro really did sail into a Category 4 hurricane in 2015 and really did go down with all thirty three hands. I will be straight with you, the villain here is the weather and one very bad call, not a portal to another dimension. But it earns its place in the legend, and the deep-water footage of the wreck sitting three miles down genuinely stopped my breath. Grief and physics, no aliens required.
