Taming the Garden

This documentary centers on an unforgettable image from Salome Jashi's film: a massive uprooted tree floating across the sea on a raft of soil. Taming the Garden observes a powerful man's strange project of transplanting ancient trees, using it to reflect on power, nature, and displacement. The film is contemplative and visually arresting rather than conventionally narrated. A striking watch for anyone drawn to art-house documentary, nature, and quietly resonant storytelling.
