The Manhattan Project Human Experiments

Dr.Docs' Take

This is the Manhattan Project's darkest footnote: scientists racing to build the bomb secretly injected terminally ill patients with plutonium and uranium to study how the materials moved through a human body, without meaningful consent. I keep this filed under atrocities that actually happened and stayed hidden for decades. The same brilliance that ended the war did this in the shadows. Short, sobering, and a permanent asterisk on the heroic version.

This short documentary reveals a dark chapter of the Manhattan Project, when scientists secretly injected terminally ill patients with uranium to study its effects on the body. It exposes human experiments conducted in the pursuit of atomic weapons without consent. Through the story, the film confronts the ethical cost hidden behind the bomb. It is a brief but chilling look at science, secrecy and human rights. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
