Secret War: The French Fiasco

Dr.Docs' Take

Secret War tells the French Fiasco, Britain's four-year clandestine campaign behind enemy lines in occupied France, anchored by the formidable Vera Atkins of the SOE. I love a wartime story where a meticulous woman quietly ran a network of agents into the dark. Many did not come back, and Atkins spent years afterward tracking down what happened to them. A gripping, sombre chapter of the secret war and the human cost of it.

Secret War - Episode 9: The French Fiasco | History Documentary For four years during the Second World War, Great Britain waged a secret campaign behind enemy lines in France. At the heart of this struggle was one woman. Skilful, meticulous and dedicated, Vera Atkins was the perfect spy mistress. Secret War goes inside Churchill's secret army, to a dangerous WWII world of secret agents.
