Fallujah: My Platoon's Fight Through the Bloodiest Battle of the Iraq War

Editor's Take

Recounted by the Marines who were there, this account of Fallujah narrows the Iraq War to a single platoon's fight. It joins firsthand testimony to combat footage from Operation Phantom Fury, following the house-to-house battle and the long recovery that came after. The film's loyalty is to the men's experience rather than to strategic overview or political context. That focus makes it visceral and, at times, hard to watch.

This documentary recounts one of the bloodiest battles of the Iraq War through the eyes of the Marines who fought it. Weaving firsthand testimony with combat footage from Operation Phantom Fury, it follows a single platoon through the brutal house-to-house fighting in Fallujah and the long struggle to heal afterward. The film honors the service members who lived it. Raw and unflinching, it is a powerful account of modern combat. Free to stream in 4K on Dr Documentary.
