Balapan, the Wings of the Altai

This documentary travels to the Deloun valley of western Mongolia, where herders defend their sheep from wolves with the help of trained golden eagles. It follows a family preparing for a great eagle hunt, and a young boy who dreams of mastering this ancient partnership between human and bird. The film captures both the harsh beauty of the Altai and a way of life passed down through generations. Intimate and atmospheric, it is a striking portrait of tradition on the roof of the world.
