Baby Catchers of the Amazon

This documentary follows the traditional midwives of the Brazilian Amazon who guide young mothers through childbirth using ancestral knowledge. In a region where a saying warns that a pregnant woman has one foot in the grave, these women carry a quiet, vital authority. The film honours a craft passed down through generations and now pressed by a changing world. It is a warm, humane watch about birth, tradition, and the people who steady others through the hardest hours. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
