Amyu, the Army of Wasp-men

This documentary follows two young Kayapo men in the depths of the Brazilian Amazon as they undergo a demanding rite of passage. Urged on by their elders, they must prove their strength and courage to become warriors in the traditions of their people. The film captures a coming-of-age ritual rooted in a way of life under pressure from the modern world. Intimate and striking, it offers a rare view of Indigenous Amazonian culture.
