The Makishi Masquerade
This film travels to Zambia for the Makishi masquerade, where masked spirits mark the passage of boys into manhood. In the village of Kashushu, a Mukanda initiation ceremony five hundred years old still shapes community life. It captures the dance, costume and ritual behind a deeply rooted tradition.
