The End of the War in Colour: The Americans at the Elbe

This Free Documentary History film uses restored colour footage to capture the final days of the Second World War in Europe. It centres on the meeting of American and Soviet troops at the River Elbe in April 1945, the moment when east met west and the Reich was cut in two. Vivid archival imagery brings the closing chapter of the war to life. For students of the war, it is a striking, colour-drenched account. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
