Women as Spoils of War at the End of World War Two
Rate itMember ratings
This DW Documentary confronts a long-silenced atrocity: the mass sexual violence suffered by German women and girls at the end of the Second World War. It gathers testimony about assaults committed as the fighting ended, and the lasting trauma carried by survivors and the children born of rape. Sensitive and unflinching, it gives voice to victims who stayed silent for decades. It is a difficult but important reckoning with a hidden legacy of war. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
