Waiting for John Frum: Cargo Cult of the South Pacific

This documentary travels to the island of Tanna in the South Pacific, home to the John Frum cargo cult that has awaited a mysterious figure for over a century. It explores how contact with American military technology during the Second World War gave rise to a set of beliefs and rituals still practiced today. The film approaches the cult with curiosity rather than mockery, asking what wonder and faith really mean. A fascinating watch for anyone interested in anthropology, belief, and Pacific cultures.
