Apollo 15: In the Mountains of the Moon
Editor's Take
A restored NASA film from 1971 documenting Apollo 15, the mission that first drove the Lunar Rover across the Moon's mountains. As a primary-source artefact, actual mission footage and the crew's own record, it has a texture that modern reconstructions cannot fake.
This restored NASA documentary from 1971 chronicles the Apollo 15 mission to the Moon's Hadley-Apennine region. It features footage from the lunar surface, the first use of the Lunar Roving Vehicle, and the famous hammer-and-feather test of Galileo's theory of falling objects. Along the way it captures the science and adventure of exploring the mountains of the Moon. For space enthusiasts, it is a vivid record of a landmark mission. Free to stream in 4K on Dr Documentary.
