The Lion Whisperer: The Incredible Bond Between Man and Africa's Apex Predators

Editor's Take

The logistical feat at the heart of this film, relocating twenty-seven lions and fourteen hyenas to a new sanctuary, gives it unusual stakes for a wildlife documentary. It follows behaviourist Kevin Richardson, known for his closeness to these animals, through the danger and delicacy of moving apex predators. The film holds tenderness and risk in the same frame, without romanticizing either.
