Kris Kristofferson: The Counter-Culture Hero

Editor's Take

Kris Kristofferson resisted a single label, moving between songwriting, acting, scholarship, and military service, and this portrait follows him across those chapters. It presents his life as a study in restlessness, tracing the intelligence behind enduring songs and an unlikely path through American culture. The film is affectionate but attentive to the contradictions of a man who rarely stayed in one role. A rounded account of a genuinely singular career.
