The Darker Side of the Animal Kingdom — BBC Earth Bad Natured

Editor's Take

Turning over the natural world's grimmer strategies, this BBC Earth film gathers orca attacks and mind-controlling parasitic fungi into a study of survival by cunning and cruelty. It sets that darkness deliberately against the usual imagery of natural beauty. The framing is more provocative than the material is disturbing, and the science stays sound beneath the theatrics. A brisk reminder that nature's methods are rarely gentle.

This BBC Earth film explores the strange, shocking, and downright sinister side of the natural world, from savage orca attacks to parasitic fungi that turn ants into zombies. It reveals the darker survival strategies that animals and even microbes use to get ahead. Behind the beauty of nature lies a world of cunning and cruelty. Fascinating and a little unsettling, it shows wildlife at its weirdest. Free to stream in 4K on Dr Documentary.
