Mediterranean Mission - Civil Sea Rescue of Refugees

This short DW Documentary joins the crew of the rescue ship Humanity 1 as they work to save migrants from drowning in the Mediterranean. Each year thousands fleeing violence and hunger die at sea, and the film captures the tense, exhausting effort to reach them in time. It gives a close, human view of civil sea rescue and the volunteers who carry it out. It is a brief but powerful portrait of compassion on dangerous waters. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
