Luxembourg: Poverty in Europe's Wealthiest Country

Editor's Take

Behind one of Europe's richest facades, this DW report finds hardship and homelessness climbing while the state lags and charities absorb the strain. It gives its account through the people living the contradiction, an inequality made sharper by the surrounding wealth. The film is pointed but measured, more concerned with witness than with polemic.

This DW documentary looks at poverty and homelessness in Luxembourg, one of the wealthiest countries in Europe. Behind the image of luxury, it finds hardship on the rise and a government slow to respond, leaving charities to fill the gap. The film gives voice to those struggling in an oasis of prosperity. It is a revealing look at inequality hidden inside great wealth. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
