Wildcats: The Americas

Editor's Take

Part of a wider wild-cats series, this episode follows the family's predators the length of the Americas, from Patagonia to northern Canada. It notes how species from the jaguar to smaller hunters adapted to lands once occupied by ancient civilizations. The 4K footage favors the stealth and patience of the hunt over narration. It is competent, handsome natural history in a well-worn mold.

This episode of the Wild Cats series ranges across the Americas, from the southern tip of South America to the far north of Canada, following the wild cats that hunt these vast lands. It reveals how species from jaguars to smaller predators have adapted to environments once home to ancient civilizations. The 4K footage captures their stealth and power. Absorbing and beautifully filmed, it is a continent-spanning study of big cats. Free to stream in 4K on Dr Documentary.
