Serengeti: The Greatest Animal Migration in the World

Editor's Take

The wildebeest migration across the East African plains is the whole of this film's attention, millions of animals driven by the search for grass. It stays with the noise and press of the herds and the predators that trail them, rendering the event at full scale. Observation, not narration, carries the drama, the sheer numbers doing the work. It is a single-subject film, and disciplined about staying with it.

Serengeti captures the greatest animal migration on the planet, as millions of wildebeest move across the East African plains in search of grass. The film follows the roaring, snorting herds and the predators that shadow them, revealing the drama of one of nature's largest spectacles. Shot in 4K, it conveys both the scale and the danger of the journey. It is a thrilling immersion in the rhythms of the Serengeti. Free to stream in 4K on Dr Documentary.
