Amazonian Midwives Assisting Childbirths

This documentary follows traditional midwives in the Amazon rainforest who guide young mothers through childbirth using ancestral knowledge they describe humbly as a gift. It shows how women like Dona Dorca carry communities through birth in places far from modern hospitals, blending ritual, skill and deep trust. The film honors a form of care passed down through generations and now under pressure from a changing world. It is an intimate look at birth, tradition and Amazonian life.
