The Na People: Choosing Between Tradition and Modernity

This documentary visits a remote community in the mountains of Sichuan, China, home to the Na people and their unusual traditions. It follows young Erchema, who lives cut off from the outside world with her sister, as she approaches a coming-of-age turning point. Through her story it captures the pull between ancestral custom and the lure of modern life. Intimate and quietly powerful, it portrays a culture facing change on its own terms.
