Did the Navy Kill a Military Whistleblower? The Death of Lt. Van Dorn

Dr.Docs' Take

This asks whether the Navy quietly let a whistleblower die, following Lt Wesley Van Dorn, who raised alarms about the dangerous MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter before being killed in one. I keep this filed under the uncomfortable questions institutions hate. The aircraft's grim safety record was known, the warnings were on the record, and a man who flagged them is dead. Whether it was negligence or something colder, the film makes you sit with the possibility.

This documentary investigates the death of Lt. Wesley Van Dorn, a dedicated Navy pilot killed flying the accident-prone MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter. It follows his family's search for answers as questions mount about the aircraft's grim safety record and whether warnings were buried. The film weighs whistleblowing, negligence, and the pressures inside the military against a grieving family's demand for accountability. Tense and deeply human, it is an investigation that refuses to look away. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
