Wild Galapagos: In the Grip of the Ocean

Editor's Take
The first part of a Galapagos series, this film shows how the islands' isolation in the Pacific produced species found nowhere else, and how the surrounding ocean rules their lives. A strong pick if you are drawn to the place that shaped Darwin's thinking.
Wild Galapagos explores the volcanic archipelago in the Pacific where isolation has produced some of the strangest wildlife on Earth. This first part focuses on the grip of the ocean, following the currents and cold upwellings that shape life on and around the islands. Shot in 4K, it captures marine iguanas, sea lions, and the seabirds that depend on this rich, remote sea. It is a striking portrait of the islands that helped inspire the theory of evolution.
