The Irregulars: Why Was Sherlock Holmes Killed Off?

This documentary explores the enduring appeal of Sherlock Holmes and asks why his creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, once tried to kill him off. As films and series keep the detective more popular than ever, it turns to the author's own life, at times as dark and strange as his fiction. Through Doyle's story it examines the uneasy bond between a writer and his most famous creation. Absorbing and revealing, it uncovers the man behind the myth. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
