Botswana's elephant conundrum
Rate itMember ratings
The elephant hunt is bitterly criticized - at least by western NGOs. In Botswana, home to 130,000 elephants, it's seen differently. Conflicts between humans and elephants occur time and again in Botswana. The large and incredibly strong animals lay bare the roofs of huts, destroy enclosures and sometimes even attack people. It is no wonder that criticism of elephant hunting in Botswana from Western animal rights activists is not well received.
