This coming-of-age documentary follows a group of Afrikaner boys through nine days at a remote military-style camp in the South African bush. Sent to be toughened in the spirit of their fathers, they confront masculinity, tradition and a hard-edged idea of manhood. The film observes with a careful, unsettling eye as the experience reshapes the young participants. It is a provocative, atmospheric portrait of identity and inheritance in post-apartheid South Africa. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
