A plane carrying a group of children collided with a DHL cargo craft when an overstretched Zurich air traffic controller's equipment failed. 71 people died in the crash. Peter Nielsen recognized the threat of the crash a minute before it happened and contacted flight 2937 to descend from their flight path. Unfortunately, the automated air collision alert system also instructed Flight 611 to descend to the same altitude.
