The Released: Mental Illness After Prison
This FRONTLINE documentary follows people living with mental illness after they leave prison, in a sobering look at what happens once they are released. Building on earlier reporting on prisons as de facto asylums, it tracks individuals cycling between incarceration and inadequate care. It exposes the gaps in a system that often sets them up to fail.
