The Best Preserved Medieval Home in Britain
Rate itMember ratings
Pitchford Hall in rural Shropshire is an immaculately preserved half-timbered house, lost by the family in 1992 but reclaimed 25 years later through the efforts of the family. The land was first deemed sacred by the ancient Romans who discovered a natural spring of pitch oil, giving the home it's name. Restoration efforts involve repairing the house's exterior with traditional medieval methods, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations. Free to watch in HD on Dr Documentary.
